The Yogi Sanctuary is getting its very own home

When I roll out my yoga mat and I take that first, sweet, long, lazy, full breath in and out, bringing myself down into my practice, I can feel myself change, it feels like coming home, home to me. It’s an incredible feeling. 

I have for years had a yearning to create a space for people where from the first moment they step through the door, even before they unroll their mat they can feel the tension from their day unravel, they can press pause on the noise and drama of their lives. That they too can feel like coming home.

I am so, so happy therefore to share my news with you. I have taken on a little building in my home village of Pentyrch to develop into a yoga and wellness studio. Yogi Sanctuary is going to have a home to call its own. Nearly 11 months of hopes, dreams, plans and schemes have come to a conclusion and on Monday works starts on the derelict squash court that nestles next to the Village Hall.

Over the next few months building works are happening to create a beautiful sanctuary for yoga and wellness. 

There will be a full schedule of classes 7 days a week - weekdays from 7am all the way through to after lunch and each evening too plus Saturday and Sunday mornings and it will cater for all ages and abilities. Chair yoga, kids yoga, beginners yoga, early morning yoga, lunchtime yoga, stand alone sound baths, work shops and events are all planned to be part of the schedule alongside my current offering.

I am being supported by Mike Williams of Somaya Wellness, an incredible teacher, who will be bringing Beginners Yoga, Mandala Yoga, Barre classes and Aerial yoga to the studio. Mike is a full time yoga teacher and professional dancer and I am over the moon to have Mike joining me.

More teachers will be added in time and I will announce the launch schedule in the coming weeks. I cannot think of a more wonderful way to thank the loyal yoga students who practice with me, putting up with dirty floors, cold halls, stacks of chairs near their mats and rubbish class times than by giving them their own gorgeous yoga studio to come home to.​
