  • The Quiet Art of Moving Well

Flow based yoga is about moving in a way that feels steady, supported, and uninterrupted. If you’ve ever felt like your flow is a little clunky, like you’re always a step behind or unsure whether you’re doing it “correctly” know that you are not alone. This two-hour workshop is designed to bridge the gap between knowing the poses and moving with ease between them. It’s about giving ourselves the luxury of time to workshop poses and transitions to ensure our flows are more flowy. Together, we’ll explore how to make each posture work for your unique body — not by forcing shapes, but by refining how you enter, adjust, and transition. You’ll learn how to: - Adapt fundamental poses to suit your body, not an idealised version - Use props intuitively without prompting (before you need them, not after) - Find stability and space so movement becomes smoother and more fluid - Move with your breath to reduce effort and overthinking - Refine transitions — the often-missed key to a truly “flowy” practice This isn’t about perfect alignment or advanced postures. It’s about developing the quiet skill of self-awareness — so your practice feels more natural, more confident, and more yours. Expect a blend of exploration, practical guidance, and a short integrated flow where you can apply what you’ve learned in a supportive, unhurried way. You’ll leave not just with a better understanding of the poses but with the ability to adjust, adapt and move with greater ease in every class you take. Refreshments will; be available throughout. This workshop is not for beginners or experienced yoga students - it is for anyone that wants to explore their execution of poses and the transitions between.

  • Earth Sky and Sound: Suspended

Embark on a deeply restorative journey — the epitome of self-love and care. Earth Sky and Sound: Suspended invites you into a quieter, softer way of being. A space to step away from the noise of the week and be gently held — by the practice, by the breath, and now, by the air itself. We begin with a grounding meditation to settle the body and steady the mind, before moving into a deeply nourishing aerial yin practice. Supported by silk hammocks, you’ll be guided through long-held, passive postures that allow the body to soften without strain. The hammock becomes your support, your cocoon — helping you release tension, decompress the joints, and create space through the connective tissues while encouraging the smooth flow of energy throughout the body. There is nothing to hold. Nothing to strive for. Just the invitation to let go. From here, you’ll transition seamlessly into your suspended rest — cocooned in the hammock for a deeply immersive yoga nidra and sound experience. As you float between earth and sky, layers of therapeutic sound — crystal singing bowls, gongs, and gentle instruments — will wash over you, guiding you into profound relaxation. This is where the body unwinds, the mind quietens, and the nervous system resets. A space to feel weightless, supported and a return to yourself. • Tai Chi Shibashi (G)

We are delighted to welcome Tai Chi Shibashi Set 1 to our schedule. It is a gentle standing movement practice originating from China, created to support health, balance and relaxation. The word Tai Chi comes from the Chinese concept Taiji, meaning “Supreme Ultimate” — the harmonious balance of opposing forces such as movement and stillness, effort and ease. Shibashi means “18 movements,” referring to the sequence of simple, flowing shapes practised in the class. Shibashi blends the flowing quality of traditional Tai Chi with the simplicity of Qigong (energy cultivation). Movements are slow, continuous and repeated, coordinated with natural breathing. This is why Tai Chi and Shibashi are often described as “meditation in movement.” Rather than focusing the mind through stillness, awareness is gently anchored in the body, the breath and the smooth transitions between movements — helping to calm the nervous system while keeping the body softly active. Benefits may include: - improved balance and coordination - increased joint mobility and ease of movement - reduced stress and tension - enhanced energy and circulation - a calm, focused and grounded state of mind - lowers blood pressure - improves the immune system - easy to learn No experience is needed. Movements are gentle, symmetrical and easily adapted to suit your body. Mondays 2-3pm £8 drop-in £7.50 per class when booking a block of 4 The classes are practiced bare foot or in socks that have 'grippy' soles. No mat required. Classes are led by local teacher Gaynor Walters, who will guide you step by step through Shibashi Set 1 in a supportive and welcoming environment. Here is a little message from Gaynor What a privilege it is to take a Tai Chi class at Stefs amazing studio. The space couldn’t be more ambient. I started practising Tai Chi a few years ago and loved it. Having trained in dance from a young age and carried it through as a career Tai Chi felt so natural, the flow and feeling took me back to my dancing days. The benefit for me was great especially as I’m a carer for my 94 soon to be 95 year old Mum. An hour for me of peace, calm, and exercise, forgetting the hum drum of the outside world. When offered the opportunity to become an instructor I was a little nervous but excited for the challenge ahead. My training was with Tai Chi for Better Health who are excellent and we meet on zoom twice monthly. Hopefully I can now pass on to you the enjoyment and benefits of practise.

  • Meditation Workshop: The Still Point

Meditation Workshop – The Still Point Join us for a relaxed Sunday afternoon two-hour workshop exploring the practice of meditation. Together we’ll experience a variety of styles — from deeply relaxing, lie-down meditations to more active practices that help train focus and awareness. Along the way we’ll explore the foundations of meditation: what it is, where it comes from, and how you can begin to build a simple and supportive practice of your own. The workshop is being led by Lyn Mosely who first discovered meditation as a teenager and has returned to it at different points throughout her life. In recent years it has become a daily ritual for her — a steady companion for navigating everyday stress, life’s bigger challenges, and the occasional overactive mind. Lyn, who is also a Reiki Master, has said that meditation has helped slow her thoughts, relax more deeply, and look inward for clarity. She has found that many of the answers she's been searching for were already within. During the workshop we’ll explore: • The science and benefits of meditation • A brief history and origins of meditation practices • Practical tools to support a home practice • Different styles including guided meditation, single-point focus and visualisation • Simple mindfulness techniques you can use in everyday life No experience is needed — just curiosity and a willingness to slow down, settle and explore. This session is perfect for anyone who has been curious about meditation but doesn’t know where to begin, as well as those who would like to deepen or refresh their practice.
